Greetings Worker Advocates and Allies!

The Worksafe Activist Network Meeting will be a great opportunity to bring together health and safety advocates, unions, legal aid organizations, immigrant rights advocates, environmentalists and others interested in advancing a progressive agenda for workers and their communities.

We have a packed and exciting agenda that includes briefings and opportunities for activism on a range of issues, including:

  • Mitch Seaman from the California Labor Federation on the current legislative session and advancing a progressive worker agenda.

  • Health and safety standards currently under development, such as indoor heat, workplace violence and exposure limits for hazardous chemicals in Cal/OSHA’s revived PEL review process.

  • A preview of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health’s policy agenda under the Trump Administration.

  • Workers and organizers discussing the United Auto Workers’ organizing campaign at Tesla Motors.

  • Mike Wilson of the Blue-Green Alliance on making refineries safer and the Process Safety Management standard.

  • Planning for Worker’s Memorial Day (April 28), when we remember workers we have lost this past year and resolve to honor their memory through activism.

We also want to spend some time talking about what issues are important to you how we can use this network and future advocacy meetings to support one another’s work through solidarity and action.

If you have any campaigns or issues you would like to announce at the meeting, please contact me at [email protected].

Finally, it would really help with our planning to know how many attendees to expect, so please click here to register

Thanks and hope to see you on the 23rd!
